About me
My name is Stefano Mallozzi, I was born on 1973. I live and work in Gaeta, a small coastal town in Central Italy. I graduated Electronic Engineering, I'm member of the Council of Engineers in Latina. I work as freelance web developer in LAMP (Linux, Apache, Mysql, PHP) environment. I started programming in Turbo Pascal and C, then I moved to more powerful tools like Borland Delphi, Visual Basic, and Office VBA, and later I focused on web development using PHP+Mysql. I work by telecommuting, I have a very good autonomy and I manage to complete my tasks quicly and accurately. I communicate with colleagues and friends using the most common resources (email, instant messaging, conference calls).
Drupal
In many years of experience in PHP, I've used several CMS's (Content Management Systems), like Drupal or Wordpress. I was really impressed by Drupal, the best choice for developers who want to add new features, even though it does not have the advanced publishing functions of Wordpress. Anyway there's a huge amount of online resources for Drupal, like modules and themes. I've also given my contribution to the Drupal community by sharing two modules, with good feedback from users:
- Node images, a module for image galleries;
- Site tour, a module for site tours, based on the Amberjack project by di Arash Yalpani.
In October 2008 I've been hired by E-box S.r.l., of which Dada owns 70%, still working on Splinder and Motime, and also other projects related to community and social networks. I have actively work in the development of Badzu (the content aggregator of Blogo.it network) and Gazzaspace (the sport community of Gazzetta dello Sport). I currently work in the Community Related Content team.
Dada S.p.a.
On October 2006 Tipic Inc. was acquired by Dada, an Internet company based in Florence. I was hired as Senior Developer to keep the work on Splinder and Motime. I've been working in telecommute, with frequent meetings in Florence with my colleagues. I've been really impressed by the young and challenging environment in Dada. Colorful rooms, lots of space, skilled and collaborative people. It's an amazing experience, still going on.
Tipic Inc.
On January 2003 I joined Tipic Inc, an internet company which owned the blogging systems Splinder and Motime. I gave a huge contribution in the development of those sites. This interesting and challenging experience is still going on, it allowed me to work with high-skilled colleagues, facing the typical problems of large websites (hundreds of thousands registered users, millions of pageviews per month). It's been a great team, very smart and enthousiastic guys. Despite the distance (Gaeta, Milano, Napoli, Cagliari, Como) we did a very good job.
